M. Grisafe Architects owner Mark Grisafe recently had the opportunity to be interviewed by Tech Company News, an online publication that features the latest in tech news and that interviews business leaders in the technology industry.
So why would an international tech magazine be interested in interviewing a Long Beach architect? Well, they wanted to find out how we utilize technology in our architecture firm to better serve our clients.
We explained to the interviewer that we aren’t necessarily early adopters when it comes to new technology. This is true in our business operations as well as in the types of high-tech products we recommend for our clients’ homes. Rather, we tend to classify ourselves as “early-ish” adopters. We are always looking at the latest technology that applies to the architectural industry, but we don’t jump on board with new technologies the second they come out. Rather, we allow them to be road tested by others to see if they are really worth using.
As Mark put it in the interview, “We are always growing and evolving as a business. We don’t want to get stuck in a rut. We do our best to stay on top of the latest trends, products, and technology, and not just for the sake of doing something new, but rather to do things in a way that will truly improve the spaces where our clients live or work.”
Mark was also able to talk in the interview about how he was able to help the City of Long Beach’s planning department step up their game when it comes to technology. Up until a few years ago, Long Beach architects were required to submit multiple sets of plans to the various city departments. When the city decided to streamline the process by creating an online submission system, they contacted Mark to ask for his thoughts on how such a system should work, and then allowed him to be one of the first Long Beach architects to submit plans through the new system once it was complete.
