Located in affluent Los Alamitos, this home was purchased “as is.” It was in poor condition and not well conceived. Our task was to make this odd single-family home more functional and provide a more appealing facade.
In our design for this project, we turned a downstairs guest bedroom into a master suite with a cozy bay window. The kitchen and dining room were completely remodeled and were combined with the new family room to create an open floor plan. Upstairs, the bathroom was remodeled and enlarged to include a separate shower and tub, as well as a double vanity.
We designed a covered porch with tapered columns to add to the home’s front façade. This added charm and gave the front elevation a more cohesive look.
