This project involved the redesign of a master bathroom and the conversion of a secondary bedroom into a spacious walk-in closet. The challenge in this project was finding a way to enhance the existing space to meet the needs of the occupants without adding square footage.
We updated the layout of the bathroom, bringing in elements that tied in with the style of the home. We provided a large walk-in closet with custom designed shelving and a center island for laying out clothing. We kept an existing window to provide natural light in the space, but used shelving to create a nook around it in order to protect the clothes from direct sunlight. This space also includes a cozy seating area for putting on shoes.
This home had vaulted ceilings throughout, including in the master bath. The client wanted a more intimate feeling while bathing, so we dropped the ceiling and created a smaller-scale space within the larger room.
