This meaningful project represents one of our team’s community outreach projects. Dedicated to those who lost their lives before birth or at a very young age, this sacred space flanks the main entry of the Saint Cornelius Church in the City of Long Beach, CA.
The garden, full of symbols of hope and encouragement, is oriented towards a sculptural rock water fountain. A curved path represents the search for understanding that often accompanies a tragic loss. The sand-colored pavers are etched with inspirational quotes and the names of those who contributed to the project. The arched seating area symbolizes an embrace and provides a focus on the fountain. Seasonal plantings enliven this space, creating an ever-changing area for sitting and quiet reflection.
This is one of the smaller projects our Long Beach architecture firm has been involved in, but is the most meaningful.
