We all know that technology has grown exponentially in the past 50 years. For this tenant improvement project, we were asked by a group of Spine Surgeons and Rehabilitation Doctors to remodel and update this former surgery center. We were attracted to this project because of the physicians’ unique approach to health and healing. To them, surgery is just one of the possible approaches to correcting an injury or chronic pain.
As we got into this project, we realized that, not only did the building have a very dated look, but it also contained outdated utilities and was in a state of disrepair throughout. We completely remodeled the building, including its structure, the utilities, and the interior layout to provide better flow and functionality for the new occupants. Additionally, we added an operating room and updated the existing OR. We also updated the X-ray room and got it certified. The building now features two elegant lobbies, two operating/recovery rooms, a rehabilitation gym, multiple doctors’ offices, and other treatment and support rooms.
Our team worked closely with specialists, the surgeons, and the general contractor to create a completely revitalized building, with all new electrical, sewer lines, drywall, and a reinforced roof. We brought in an interior designer to select new finishes and fixtures throughout. The interior now has a spa-like feel, which also incorporates rustic elements.
